you say it's your birthday; it's my birthday too (yeah)

saturday (the 13th) was danny's birthday, and sunday (the 14th) was mine. we're convenient like that - back to back birthdays. we celebrated by having a deliciously wonderful meal at the melting pot which lasted approximately 10 hours.

we spent the rest of the weekend being as lazy as possible. danny got me a wii active, and i can't wait to try it out (i had to wait due to the word "lazy" used to describe the weekend)!

so, in honor of the anniversary of the birth of the hubs' (i don't know where that came from), i wanted to take a moment to say how much i love him. he makes me incredibly happy, more than i can even say. everyday i think about spending the rest of my life with him, and it puts the biggest grin on my face. i mean, just look how cute he is!

wedding recap: thursday

our wedding weekend began the thursday before the wedding. my parents, little brother, and "aunt" brenda (my mom's best friend since childhood) were the first to arrive. we immediately hit up bandito, a diet staple in our world, & then spent the afternoon finishing up last minute projects. my sister, her husband, my 2 aunts, wayne (our friend and officiant), and brett came into town that evening, and it was so much fun to have everyone together and feel the excitement building.

stocking the bar before we walk down the aisle

a few weeks ago, our friends were sweet enough to throw us a shower. well, officially, it was not called a shower in order to prevent a freak-out by the boys...it was deemed a pre-wedding throwdown which went over much better.

the theme of the throwdown was stocking the bar which if the great friends and food weren't enough makes for a very fun party! stef made the invitations. so cute! complete with a little poem.

the spread...

rachel who provied the location for the party

josh, rachel's husband, & an excellent stirrer.

stef taking pictures of her own.

audra and patrick working on their mad lib.

dave who is incapable of looking normal in any picture i take.

the lovely jeri who made a very yummy salad for the party.

cake!

we played a "how well do you know your fiance?" game...danny and i were not good at it (uh oh!), but i won! i got the most questions right. go me!

and the result: a filled to capacity home bar...

i still haven't sent thank yous for this party (i'm a slacker, i know), but i can't thank our friends enough for throwing this party for us. they went to a lot of trouble and planning to make it happen, and it makes us feel so loved. it was so much fun to have so many of our friends in a room together. it gets me that much more excited about the wedding and seeing all our guests. weddings result in so much fun!

"mine is this big"

i just got back from an awesome weekend! my friends took me to the beach for my bachlorette party. we went down thursday after work and unfortunately had to come back on sunday (boo!). my picture-taking only involved taking one picture of each of the girls & that's it.

amanda spent all of thursday in the car in order to spend the weekend with me. i hear she builds killer sand castles.

yam spent her beach time tucked safely underneath an umbrella borrowed from the lam family.

natasha flew from chicago to the great state of alabama to spend the weekend. she was definitely our most dedicated tanner.

stef finally got to wear her super cute red shirt from anthropology on the trip, and she made me some very yummy cookies.

jeri drove us all down to the beach and back...12 hours of driving. in return she got some well-deserved child-free time sitting on the beach.

i also managed to snap these two pictures of our sleepers...

this trip was so much fun. these girls really are my closest friends, and it meant so much to me that they were willing to travel long distances and miss work and class in order to spend the weekend with me. they really made me feel loved, and i love them too.

thanks for a fabulous weekend, girls....maybe a beach trip should become an annual thing...yes?
